February update

I’m so rubbish at updating this blog. Need to get my head back in the game! Apologies!

So January! NJ turned 2 at the end of the month. Where does the time go? I took the day off work and we had a lovely day at Eureka in Halifax.
A great day out for us that, at first glance, I thought was a tad pricey, but then they drop in a “free” annual pass which makes it silly cheap really! NJ had so much fun running around and pressing buttons and playing with things. I think his favourite parts though were the water play area in the bathroom and the big car garage area, especially when he see the big Leyland Daf truck cab!

On the Saturday we had a birthday party, held in a local church hall. We hired lots of soft play equipment and Little Tikes cars etc from a company called Little Tiddles. We had around 20 children come and they literally ran around and played for the whole three hours.

NJ’s just coming on so amazing now. A week or so ago I had my first fully fledged telephone conversation with him, which included a rendition of Happy Birthday. Gave me a permanent smile for the rest of the day. Even now though we’re having conversations all the time. OK I don’t always know exactly what he says but he’s understanding mrs and responding with the best he’s got.

It’s such a beautiful time to watch him grow and develop.

And then there’s the news that we went public with our second pregnancy. Yes we have a new cub on it’s way, due at the end of July. Helen struggled awfully with sickness for the first couple of months but it seems to have calmed down now though. It’s the most important job in the world carrying a baby for 9 months and she did brilliantly last time and continues to do so now. We’re already planning changes to NJ’s bedroom to make it possible to turn our smaller spare room into a nursery. Even more important now with Helen having found NJ trying to climb out of his cot for the first time today! Exciting times ahead. It’ll be great to have a little brother or sister for NJ.
And no we’re not finding out ahead. What will be will be.
It’s only about 50/50 anyway, right!
